Birdie's collection of real-life short stories set in rural New Mexico, "My Tiny Vegas," includes stories about the secret Scientology mesa outside of Las Vegas, New Mexico, as well as heartwarming stories about green chile, santeros, and life on the edge of the Great Plains.
