A History of the Third French Republic - Paperback
by C. H. C. Wright (Author)

A crafty and utterly unscrupulous diplomat, he was able to mislead Napoleon and his unskilful ministers. Soon after Sadowa the Emperor tried to obtain territorial compensation from Prussia.
