A Madcap Princess is a comedic opera in three acts written by Charles Major and first published in 1904. The story follows Princess Isabella of San Morello, a young and impulsive royal who is determined to marry for love rather than political gain. When she falls in love with a commoner, the handsome and charming Lieutenant Richard Wayne, she must navigate the disapproval of her family and the court, as well as the scheming of her villainous cousin, Prince Carlo. With the help of her loyal friends and allies, including the witty and irreverent Lady Betty, Isabella sets out to win her true love and prove that true happiness is worth fighting for. Featuring lively music, witty dialogue, and colorful characters, A Madcap Princess is a delightful romp through the world of royalty, romance, and comedy. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
