Lewis Carroll was the pen name used by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, who was born in England on January 27, 1832, and died there on January 14, 1898.

His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass, and the nonsense poems, "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky." Because his writing is noted for its word play, logic, and fantasy, it has a great appeal to adults.
