Alyria: Treachery, Beasts, and Treasure - Paperback

by Gerrod Thomas (Author)

This is a story of pirates, nobles, monsters, and plots. Where mortal wills joust with an indifferent world of alyria, magick, and beasts, all in the name of their own gains. And where fate itself seems to have conspired to bring disparate souls clashing together like fire and ice. On Hera, the currencies of the realms are blood and gold, and those who are willing to stain their hands and take up the black flag have much to gain. Enter the Immortal Captain, Morgan Sarron: a pirate of legend, impossible, it would seem, to kill or capture...until he wasn't. Shanghaied and brought before the emperor of Kurza, he is faced with an ultimatum: retrieve an artifact of old for the emperor, or he and his crew will face the hangman's noose for high-seas piracy. How could he refuse?

All that glimmers isn't gold, and the Azura pirates are beset as death, deception, and trials of the sea follow them at every turn. An enemy from Morgan's past has returned to haunt him in the present, and in Kurza, a paladin finds himself stationed in Emperor's Rest, a city where no good deed goes unpunished. Even here, danger lurks as plots unfold and passions run hot and cold. On the high seas, an ambitious pirate captain and his Alyrian companion have their lives changed forever when a ghost ship appears on a bloody, moonlit night.

The arms of destiny reach out as mortal lives are thrown into the crucible of change in a harrowing tale of Alyria: Treachery, Beasts, and Treasure...
