by Isabel San Sebastián (Author)

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

"From your womb a mighty river is born. It branches off, feeding innumerable streams. Its waters pour into the great ocean, where they reach the waterfall but do not disappear. That is why your name must be Huma, which means the one that flows .

On a moonless night, early in the 8th century, Huma was born in the Kingdom of Asturias. The daughter and sole heiress of the priestess of the Coaña fort, she is marked by a prophecy and a curse.

At the same time, in occupied Recópolis, the young Ickila dreams of going north and joining the Christians in their fight against the Saracens, who have invaded almost the entire peninsula. Exiled after a brawl, he decides to seek his fortune on the other side of the mountains, where Prince Alfonso leads an army of Asturians, Cantabrians, and Goths who are determined to resist without submitting or paying tribute.

Fate weaves its threads to unite Huma and Ickila, the Visigothic peoples and the Asturian, in two intertwined stories that are really one.

With Astur, Isabel San Sebastián creates a captivating chronicle in which history and legend bring the reader to the heart of an exciting epic.
