Detachments - Hardcover

by R. C. Charles (Author)

A U.S. intelligence community veteran with nearly 30 years spent inside the classified world - including assignments at the Department of the Air Force, U.S. Cyber Command, and the CIA's National Clandestine Service - has written a novel so provocative a senior Department of Defense official insisted on key redactions, as documented in the book's front matter. Draw your own conclusions.

Detachments is unlike anything else in the UAP conversation - not because it speculates, but because it answers. Questions that classified information releases, congressional task forces, and firsthand accounts have never addressed. Questions that only someone who has spent decades inside the intelligence community would even know to ask.

It begins simply enough:

John Calloway's fiancée goes into premature labor. The hospital is three hours away. His truck breaks down. A light on the horizon offers hope - and delivers something else entirely.

What follows is a relentless, meticulously crafted story of a man fighting across impossible distances to return to the woman he loves before it's too late. But the answers John finds - about who took him, why, and what they needed - will reframe everything you thought you knew about Roswell, about abduction, and about what we are to the intelligence that has been watching us.

"Detachments presents a brilliant and original collection of ideas, seamlessly synthesizing an extensive body of knowledge on UAPs and alien abductions into one cohesive and groundbreaking perspective - all while remaining an engaging and thought-provoking read. R.C. Charles shines as an insightful and masterful theorist." - A.M.B.

"Despite my best attempts to anticipate the twists and turns of this book, I altogether failed. Buckle your seatbelt tightly, take notes, make maps and sketches - then join me in being thoroughly mesmerized by this epic novel." - DeWayne D., Special Agent (Ret.)
