But his fate after capture is top secret, and even after twenty years of silence, she fears he's escaped punishment to make good his threat: "I'll find you and kill you."

The danger continues when Chrissy's daughter, Wendy, comes of age. She learns from her mother's experiences how to summon the courage to face life's challenges. But her mother's first life isn't truly over and comes back to haunt them both.
