Gordon Gets Grounded takes kids on a soaring seagull adventure they won't soon forget.
Gordon loves the freedom of sailing through the sky as his little outstretched wings float along with the breeze. When the curious young gull spies the perfect perch with the best view, he swerves toward it. But just as he's nearing the old light pole, a flock of older seagulls block his way. With nowhere left to go but down, Gordon sadly flutters to the beach wondering why the elders never let him enjoy the high perches. His mother soon joins him in the sand and helps him understand the reasons behind their strange actions as she explains important lessons about growing up and being safe.
A great book for beginning readers, this photo-illustrated story is both delightful and insightful. It also includes a list of review questions at the end to help improve kids' reading retention.
