You may know of the Gloucester sea serpent or Berkshire County's Bigfoot sightings, but perhaps you haven't you heard about: Pontoosuc Lake's phantom canoe, which carries the ghosts of two star-crossed Mohegan lovers who chose to die together rather than live apart; the haunted Danvers Lunatic Asylum, whose former residents never really left; eyewitness accounts of UFOs sightings that date back to the mid-1800s; and the "Ghost Walk," an area over the water near Little Brewster Island that's surrounded by a mysteriously undetectable sound barrier. Cheri Revai Farnsworth is the author of the best-selling Haunted Northern New York series, The Big Book of New York Ghost Stories, Haunted Connecticut, Alphabet Killer, and eight other titles of true crime and the paranormal. She is a native of upstate New York's "north country" but has many fond memories of family vacations in the adjacent New England states.
