Author Biography

Steph Caswell has been a primary school teacher for over 10 years and has taught across all Key Stages. Since starting her teaching career in 2004, her roles have included: NQT Mentor, Student Mentor, Assistant Headteacher, Inclusion Leader and, most recently, as a Deputy Headteacher. Her website for NQTs, www.thenqtmentor.com, helps newly qualified teachers with all aspects of their new career. It also aims to provide a community for NQTs to connect with each other and share advice on how to cope with the stresses and strains (and successes!) of their first year of teaching. Steph has written two other books in this NQT series including the best-selling, 'Keeping Bums in Seats: The NQT's Guide to Behaviour Management', as well as, 'Keeping it Sweet: The NQT's Guide to Working with a Teaching Assistant.'
