by Carol A. Wirth (Author)

Readers, young and old, for generations have fallen in love with Laura Ingalls Wilder Little House books. Readers become that little girl or boy experiencing what Laura wrote on the pages. It doesn't matter if it is the first time the story is read or the tenth. The writing style grabs readers of all ages and won't let us go.

Laura and her Family Tree can educate and give readers a glimpse into a more extensive family tree starting in the 1600's and going to the 2010's. Over 360 surnames are included. For fans who have read Laura's fictionalized books or series books about her mother Caroline or her grandmother Charlotte here is your chance to read facts.

Readers get a peek into the lives of Laura and Almanzo's ancestors. Some are only a name with birth and death dates and maybe locations. Others may have mini life highlights, obit or where they are buried. Real Laura and Almanzo relatives get a starting point or continuing point for their own family trees. The material may also give readers encouragement to share stories with their family or start their own family tree.

Laura and her Family Tree may satisfy your curiosity or lead to 'Wow, that's interesting, I want to find out more" so any name can be a starting point for further research.

Readers will also find sites and museums tied to Laura and Almanzo. To step back in time the author has also included a list of 1800's places to visit. There are museums or reconstructed towns showing day-to-day with houses, tools, clothing and other items tied to the time period.

Over time many excellent books have been written about Laura and her life. This book is not competition and hopefully the extended family tree data presented is new. Readers will find articles and books lists. The author encourages everyone to find the topic areas that interest them the most including the DVD lists after the genealogy section in this book.

Life today is very different from the world Laura and Almanzo lived in but the values they had are timeless and can be passed on to generation after generation. Enjoy exploring the lives of Laura and Almanzo's ancestor and living relatives today.
