by Evan Giddings (Author)
"It is often said that you have but one life to live, but that is nonsense. For one who reads, there is no limit to the number of lives that may be lived..." - Louis L'Amour, (Education of a Wandering Man 1989)
Evan Giddings in his debut poetry volume, Men of Old and other poems, writes to instill patriotism and love of knowledge in the hearts of his reader. In his title poem, Men of Old, Giddings recounts great lives that have been lived and that readers can relive through his poems. The Ranger, The Stallion, The Falcon, Fire, and Night Sounds evoke the West and cowtowns of Louis L'Amour. A Battle Sonnet and The Ballad of the Sea remind us of the people who have endured heroic struggles in the growth of our nation.
Gidding's raising in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in an Army family greatly informs his work.
