Mississippi Territorial Petitions, Etc. 1800 [1795-1804] - Paperback

by John Stemmons (Author)

MISSISSIPPI TERRITORIAL PETITIONS, ETC. 1800 [1795-1804] contains 2566 names found on petitions, etc., from Mississippi Territory for this time period. This was during a fast-growing era prior to Mississippi becoming a state. Unfortunately, there is no 1800 census existing to help track these people. That is why this new book can help. It is even better in some respects than the census because it helps us understand some of the challenges they faced. It also makes possible the determination of other records that might be available for further research such as Spanish land grants. Some additional biographical details may be included, plus possible relationships with other family members.Mississippi State Motto: Virtute et armis (Latin) (English: "By valor and arms")
