Murder by Association - Paperback

by Shelley Weiss (Author)

Small town secrets. Vintage style. A killer with a grudge.

When vintage-loving photographer Birdie Lopez rushes home to the quirky coastal town of Moon's Landing after her beloved Aunt Lula's mysterious death, she expects grief. What she doesn't expect is a stolen camera bag, a porch full of meddling neighbors, and a loyal coonhound named Butterscotch with blood on her paw.

The sheriff says it was a freak peacock attack. The neighbors say Aunt Lula had it coming for feeding those birds. But Birdie isn't buying any of it, especially after a cryptic note appears on her friend's windshield: It wasn't an accident.

Armed with her aunt's secrets, a vintage Rolleiflex camera, and more suspicion than good sense, Birdie digs into a town where everyone has an opinion, an agenda, and a key to the HOA complaint box. There's Lois Jones, the ruthless homeowners' association president. The Moon sisters, who've been keeping score on Birdie since childhood. A grandson with a grudge and a costume straight out of a crime watch poster. And Mason Moon, the enigmatic distillery heir next door, who knew Aunt Lula better than Birdie realized.

But someone in this picture-perfect neighborhood is hiding a deadly secret. And the closer Birdie gets to the truth, the more dangerous Moon's Landing becomes.

Between Halloween hijinks, small-town gossip, and a growing list of suspects, Birdie must untangle a web of feuds, family secrets, and long-buried grudges before the killer strikes again.

Murder by Association is the charming first book in the Moon's Landing Cozy Mystery series - perfect for fans of Joanne Fluke, Lynn Cahoon, and anyone who believes the nosiest neighbor always cracks the case. Grab a cup of coffee, settle in, and don't trust the one with the greenest lawn.
