Irvin is an assistant professor of English at Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Florida. She earned her undergraduate degree from University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, and her graduate degree from University of Wisconsin, Madison. She currently teaches classes in technical communication and has co-authored four books and written four children's books.
