Door County Wisconsin is a popular vacation spot with few people living in the area. Maurice Jameson lives in the family home and is setting down roots. He makes the home a place for all the Jameson's to visit and rekindle relationships. Part of the relationship growing includes Maurice's Dad, Cousin Brian, and he are building a new resort, the Cherry Ridge. Before the foundations are poured the construction comes to a stop with the discovery of a large metal box buried on the property. The box catches the attention of the community bringing out the stories of Great Lakes shipwrecks and the Voyageurs. The state historical society arrives on the site and begins the slow process to uncover the history of the box. Concerns that the box has polluted the area where it was found brings the Department of Natural Resources who shut down the construction while their investigation goes on. Then there are others that want the box enough to kill for it.
