by Gail Milon (Author)
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. Your future is not ahead of you...it is trapped within you. Prepare to be taken on an underground railroad experience to free your mind from plantation mentality.
This book widens the attention on how the NFL has discriminated against Black retired NFL players regarding the NFL Concussion Settlement. There is refocus on the denial of equal compensation for damage sustained while being a Black retired player within the NFL.
It increases awareness about how Black retired NFL players are being treated but simultaneously provides hope for any individual impacted in a similar way. It tells the story surrounding NFL Concussion Settlement, the settlement process, race norming, and greed associated with it.
This book's unique focus is from a layman's perspective.
In it, there is enlightenment for the curious reader as well as individuals on the journey through the NFL Concussion claimant process.
It makes the claimant process for NFL players more understandable and makes a case for affected retired NFL players' need for assistance in filing their claims. Life on the plantation can not only silence an individual, but it can also make an individual feel invisible and less than.
This book is aimed to inspire others who have been diminished, ignored, powerfully overridden, or silenced to fight against such adversities. Silence only creates more room for injustices.
"The greatest weapon of the oppressor is the maintenance of ignorance."
