Only then do they realize that their unconventional upgrades might not have attracted four pirate-y pairs of strong arrrrrrrms, but they did call to an eight-legged creature who just might suit their crew even better. Mike Allegra knew not long after penning Pirate & Penguin that the pair's hilarious high-seas hijinks couldn't be contained to a single book, and that future adventures would call for more crew members. He would have joined the crew himself except, well, books and water don't exactly mix. He's written a number of other books for children, including Sleepy Happy Capy Cuddles (Page Street Kids) and Scampers Thinks Like a Scientist (Sourcebooks). Jenn Harney was overjoyed to illustrate another antic-filled adventure featuring pirates and penguins--a perfect pairing that she considers long overdue! She's illustrated many other children's books, including Hornswoggled! (Page Street Kids), and even authored a couple as well. She lives in Ohio with her family and their corgi named Steve.
