David J. Patten has traveled in 56 foreign countries. He is a world traveler, having visited 197 UNESCO World Heritage sites in 47 counties. In this book he includes in-depth articles about 50 UNESCO sites he has visited. Included are sites in North, Central and South America; Europe; Africa; South Asia; Oceania; and the Near, Middle and Far East. Author Biography

David J. Patten has a bachelor's degree in art from the University of Nebraska, a master's degree in art history from the State University of Iowa, and a master's degree in information science from the University of Michigan. He has held professional positions at the University of Cincinnati; Washington University, Saint Louis; and Oberlin College, Ohio. He has worked as an editor of indexes and abstracting services and as an editor at a New York City publishing firm. Before retiring, he worked as a graphic designer at Florida's Tampa Bay Times.
