Author Biography

Gillian is Associate Clinical Fellow (Nursing Leadership and Service Improvement) at Manchester Metropolitan University. She integrates clinical, applied research and Higher Education expertise to enable quality improvement in practice. Gillian is a member of the Q Community Founding Cohort and has consulted for national, regional and local health and care organisations; most recently focusing on Human Factors and leadership development for patient safety, workforce engagement and wellbeing. Gillian is a Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI II) licenced practitioner and accredited NHS/Healthcare Leadership feedback facilitator. She is past Fellow of CETL4HealthNE and member of the National Reference Group for Service Improvement.

Catherine Delves-Yates is an experienced nurse and a Lecturer at the University of East Anglia. After starting her nursing career at the Nightingale School London, she has worked clinically in adult and paediatric critical care in the UK and has nursed and taught in America, Africa and Nepal. Her passion is to ensure all nurses have the knowledge, skills and professionalism to deliver effective compassionate care to each of their patients. Catherine is an Honorary Lecturer at Universities in Cameroon and Nepal. Currently she is researching whether nursing students' views of health and illness alter during their pre-registration nursing programme.
