Sam: The Cat Without a Tail - Hardcover

by Gloria Lintermans (Author)

Sam: The Cat Without A Tail follows the trials of Sam, a young Manx cat with a soft, white puff of a tail. As he discovers that he is indeed different from everyone around him, he learns and helps to teach the importance and beauty of diversity and self-worth.

"Sam: The Cat Without a Tail is a children's picturebook about Sam, a white kitten without a tail - just a stump of fur. Although Sam is adopted into a loving home, he feels shy and ashamed about his lack of a tail. Can Sam learn to develop confidence? A few facts about Max cats and a note to parents and caregivers about supporting children's self-worth round out this charming, purrfectly delightful story." --James A. Cox, Editor-in-Chief, Midwest Book Review

"Sam: The Cat Without a Tail, written by Gloria Lintermans and illustrated by Kristina Tosic, is a delightful story about difference and acceptance. The first thing that everyone, people and other cats, notice about Sam is that he has no tail. The other cats make fun of Sam and he feels lonely and left out because he can't do the things the others can do. When Sam overcomes his fear and achieves what the other cats couldn't, he learns to accept his difference as what makes him special and unique. The book includes suggestions for parents and caregivers on how to encourage the children to develop feelings of self-worth by appreciating difference and accepting diversity." --Norah Colvin, Founder, readilearn
