What is the ultimate goal of the gospel from God's perspective? What fruit is He seeking from the sowing of His Word into the earth? In the parable of the wheat and the tares, Jesus foretold of a great harvest, which would mark the end of the age. He explained that the good seed, brought forth of the sowing of the Son of man, were the sons of the kingdom. From creation on, God has patiently waited for this harvest of His kingdom sons. Even so, much sowing remains to be done. Yet it is vital that the right seed be sown, because the seed sown will bring forth after its own kind, be it wheat or tares. The Word that God sowed into the earth was not religious principle and doctrine. Rather, it was His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. God sowed eternal life in the seed of His Son in order to raise up subsequent generations of sons who also would partake of His life and nature. All those who receive Him are given the authority to become sons of God and rightful heirs of His kingdom. Seed of the Harvest is a prophetic call to the destiny of kingdom sonship and communion with God in Spirit and truth. Dr. Eric W. Lucas is a trustee of Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Frederick Md.
