A History of Secrets

Successful businesswoman Charlene Butler prefers not to discuss her past, or how she came to own her Irish pub in downtown Montreal. But the past comes calling when she begins to receive unsettling anonymous letters. When the police don't show interest in the case, Charlie's best friend, Frank, convinces her to hire a private investigator. However, PI Simm seems to have a few secrets of his own.

Charlie reluctantly joins forces with Simm as the harassment escalates from letters to explicit threats. But their investigation only raises more questions. Could there be a connection to the bar's previous owner? Or the long-ago cases of missing children? From Montreal's gritty underworld to organized crime in Dublin, Ireland, Charlie and Simm follow a dangerous trail that will challenge Charlie's most fundamental beliefs about her past...and herself.
