Songbird - Paperback

by Kel Bruem (Author)

Two lovers in the fog must find a clear path forward as their passions-for theatre and for each other-ignite.

Sarah Aguilar is grateful for everything she has-a job in the arts, a San Francisco apartment walking distance to the theatre, and a best friend who sticks to her side like a phantom to an opera. Still, she can't help the feeling she's living her life in the wings when she truly longs for the stage. When Sarah's tasked with showing the newest star to the production, Captain Arrow Star Himself-Chris Oldfelds-she can't help the mounting attraction between them. Best (or worst) of all, he encourages her to sing professionally. But dark memories from Sarah's past rise with sharp teeth, caging her in hesitation before she can give their romance, and her career, the chance it deserves.

Returning to San Francisco for the first time in a decade, Chris Oldfelds is hoping to reconnect with his art and his past. When the tight-lipped Sarah is assigned to show him around, he doesn't expect to also be her neighbor-close enough to hear her incredible voice through the thin walls. Chris falls hard and fast for the grumpy, terse production assistant, knocking gently on the bars she's built around herself. But just as Sarah begins to open up, the pressures and paparazzi that come with his Hollywood career put their budding relationship in jeopardy.
