A pluralistic reference book--invaluable to cultural sector professionals, collectors and art enthusiasts alike--that maps out today's leading arts institutions
Curated by leading figures in today's artistic landscape, The 99 compiles a selection of the 99 most influential contemporary art centers across the globe. From major institutions such as the Dia Art Foundation to independent spaces such as Marfa in Texas, this editorial project by La Fábrica offers a global, collective and contemporary map of the current art scene. The curatorial committee selected these centers on the basis of their efficacy in activating thought, fostering networks and supporting both artists and art enthusiasts. Organized by geographic regions--Africa, Middle East, Europe, Latin America and North America--The 99 is a reference book that reflects the projects, visions and challenges defining the global art ecosystem today. It features a special section that highlights architecture's role in shaping this ecosystem as well as an epilogue by renowned curator Hans Ulrich Obrist.
