When I hit the floor she raised the knife and flung herself at me again. I grabbed her hair and pulled her down to the floor, but she managed to slash my arm. Blood spurted everywhere. I felt like I was going to pass out, so I grabbed her arm and pulled one more time. Her scream was deafening; I knew I had cut her. I was fading out of consciousness, and I thought I heard someone else in the apartment. I saw a man standing over me, but I knew I was dying.
