John B. Macurdy grew up in Stamford, Connecticut, received two degrees from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and currently resides in Santa Barbara, California. "I spent thirty years studying the historical origins of Christianity and the nature and identity of the historical Jesus. That became a nonfiction book I wrote called The Fourth Philosophy."
