by Geneva Silvernail (Author)
Can you believe a church reserved a room for a missionary in a hotel with a sign that stated, "Rooms by the Hour"?
How would you react if your speaking engagement was canceled because you are considered the wrong gender? How would you feel after hearing a woman state that your clothes are "disappointing" for a missionary speaker? In The Returning Missionary: The Sorrows and Laughter of Home Assignment, Geneva Silvernail shares in her frank and straightforward way the frustrations she has faced while communicating with the local church about scheduling, housing, finances, transportation, and more while on home assignment. Witness the sorrow, laughter, sadness, and humor-all experienced while working for God and His church.
Silvernail has a passion for sharing her missionary experiences. She spent thirty-one years in volunteer and career global missions in Dominican Republic, Eswatini, Guam, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and St. Croix. As with her first book, Finding a Hiding Place: Revealing God's Way, Silvernail is devoted to letting others witness the changes in her life because of Christ. She is the mother of three, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of two.
