Author Biography

Elizabeth Cassidy West is a graduate of the University of South Carolina (BA '89, MLS '95, MA '02). As University Archivist, she has developed an extensive knowledge of Carolina's history. Elizabeth collects and preserves the University's historic materials, assists researchers, curates exhibits, and provides presentations and tours to a wide variety of students, faculty, and visitors. She lends her expertise to university history-related committees and projects and co-chaired the Presidential Commission on University History. Elizabeth is the author of three books on the history of the University of South Carolina: University of South Carolina (the Campus History series), University of South Carolina Football Vault: The History of the Gamecocks, and On the Horseshoe: A Guide to the Historic Campus of the University of South Carolina with Katherine Thompson Allen. She lives in Lexington, South Carolina.
