Mike Whitehead attended the University of North Texas, where he served as the editor of the student newspaper, the North Texas Daily. During his distinguished career in journalism spanning more than thirty years, he has written and edited for newspapers in Texas, California, Oregon, and Louisiana. He is also the publisher and editor of SB Magazine in Shreveport, where he lives with his wife, Martha. The Weekend is his debut novel.
