Types, Psalms, and Prophecies: Being a Series of Old Testament Studies and Bible Commentaries - Hardcover

by David Baron (Author)

David Baron's bold work of Bible study identifies and connects passages of Old Testament scripture, noting how truths present in the psalms surface elsewhere.

Beginning his commentary by stating his belief in the systematic qualities of the holy scriptures, Baron commences his investigation with a reading of Leviticus. The calendar and feast days related to Moses from the Lord serve as a staging ground for the author's readings. With the Sabbath came the organization of life for God's believers; a day of rest and contemplation, which forms the basis of the sacred calendar across the years. With this knowledge in hand, the author engages in close commentaries of pertinent psalms and prophetic passages found later in the Old Testament.

Every chapter of this work begins with a full quotation of the psalm or verses examined. Baron examines the subject meticulously; proceeding verse by verse, and chapter by chapter, his annotations replete with detail. The structure of this book is relevant to the explanations, with each successive study establishing links and prophetic relevancies. Through the author's eye for detail and capable scholarship, we gain an appreciation for the richness and intricacy of the Old Testament's ancient lore.
