A Kirkus Reviews "Get It!" Pick - BookReview.com Book of the Month - Top 20 Goodreads Spiritual Fiction
What if one woman's awakening could help the whole world remember? Maya Burke is twenty-two, adrift, and quietly certain that life is supposed to mean more than this. Then she unearths a metal box buried in her backyard. Inside it is a journal written by the father who vanished when she was an infant. It is not a diary. It is a map. A spiritual journey meant for her alone. Maya follows where it leads: across the country, into an off-the-grid community hidden in the mountains, past the edges of a secret government program, and toward an ancient power site of native tradition. As she journeys, the careful surface of her life begins to dissolve. Psychic visions. Impossible synchronicities. Energy vortices that crackle with something mystical and alive. And at the center of it all, a community that holds the extraordinary belief that through awakened consciousness and coordinated intention, human beings can shape a new kind of history. The world can change from the inside out. And Maya is a key in how it begins. What starts as a search for her father becomes a quest inward, into inherited memory, buried knowing, and a potential that seeks to awaken. In the tradition of The Alchemist, The Celestine Prophecy, and Way of the Peaceful Warrior, this is visionary fiction for readers who sense there is more beneath the surface of ordinary life, and who hold the hope that a more conscious, more peaceful world is still possible.Author Biography
