Inspired by the life and love of WANDA THE WILD.
The 260-page cookbook by Ashley Russell is illustrated by a Portland Tattoo artist, Abigail Agersea of SadPuppy Tattoo, and includes color food photography, 100 years of family photos, fun anecdotes, and a retro feel - including a riso-printed cover and bright spiral binding.
Family favorite recipes that have been updated for modern cooks, including: Banana Bread, Carrot Cake, Italian Cream Cake, Pound Cake, Sheath Cake, Fudge Cookies, Chocolate Peanut Butter Rounds, Chocolate Pie, Pecan Pie, Baked Beans, Spanish Rice, Seven-Layer Salad, Strawberry Jam, and Homemade Biscuits. These recipes span four generations. From the farmlands of Texas during the Great Depression to the 1970s dessert salad era of the Sunshine State to the 21st-century Pacific Northwest (and almost everywhere in between). 100 years of note cards mailed across state lines, gossip at potlucks, grocery checkout line magazines, celebrity cooking shows, internet printouts, and social media shares. From double boilers to microwave ovens, from four cups of sugar to gluten-free, it's all here. So come on, "let's go get a bite."
