Author Biography

One of Dover's most gifted and versatile artists, Marty Noble is from a family of artists dating back several generations. Raised in Santa Barbara, she pursued her creative interests from an early age, settling on the batik technique in the early 60s. From simple pieces the work grew into very detailed paintings, earning her a reputation in area galleries as well as in the illustration field. In 1980 she switched to watercolor and pursued opportunities with art publishing firms; since then she's enjoyed seeing her designs used as book illustrations, posters, puzzles, greeting cards, plate designs, and calendars. She is the creator of over 200 Dover titles, including regular and stained glass coloring books, stickers, tattoos, stencils, and more. Marty has also expertly rendered the art for most of the "Color Your Own . . . " series, and she is the talent behind many Creative Haven coloring books, including such bestselling titles as Art Nouveau Animal Designs and Steampunk Fashions.
