Shine and Nevaeh met two years ago at the barber shop that Shine owns. They fell in love pretty quickly and for two years now, have had very few bumps along the way. They have decided to start a family together. Nevaeh did an embryo transfer and is waiting on the results to see if she is finally pregnant. Yet still, Lo and Shine are planning and preparing for this big lick with the help of Lo's cousin, Mookie. Mookie is the girlfriend of the big-time drug dealer's corner-boy, Keno, who has been abusing Mookie since his sudden addiction to cocaine has him out of his mind. Mookie knows all of Keno's secrets - including what he's told her about the drug dealer's business operation - and the group uses that to their advantage. On the night of the lick, Shine throws a birthday party for Nevaeh and unexpectedly proposes to Nevaeh in front of the crowd. During the hype of the party, Lo and Shine leave the party to take care of business. They are in and out of the trap house quick, taking all the drugs and money, dropping any witnesses, and on their way to drop everything off when Shine gets into a shoot out in the middle of the street. They flea the scene and eventually Shine makes it back to the party to take Nevaeh home, but there's an unsettled feeling in her chest that someone recognized her. After venting to an old-school mentor, Shine decides to tell Nevaeh everything - only to be arrested minutes after her confession to her woman. This leaves Nevaeh with the responsibility to give birth to their baby on her own and help Shine out of the consequences she's brought onto their family. Their love will be put to the ultimate test...
