by Richard M. Adler (Author)
My Rock and Roll Fantasy is the true story of Richard M. Adler, who began his career in the music business working with The Beatles, and never looked back. This behind-the-scenes memoir spans decades of rock history, as Adler takes readers on an unforgettable ride from The Beatles at Carnegie Hall to Woodstock, sharing stories that include The Beatles, Ramones, Beach Boys, Doors, Buzzy Linhart, Carly Simon, James Taylor, Walter Becker, Randy California, Fairport Convention, Herman's Hermits and many more.
From teenage dirt bomb fights between Beatles and Stones fans in Forest Hills to backstage jams with The Yardbirds and The Hollies, Adler captures the energy and chaos of the 1960s and '70s music scene with vivid detail and sharp humor. Whether he's navigating the madness of Murray the K's Easter Show, managing a road tour with Buzzy Linhart, or witnessing Dennis Wilson's run-ins backstage security, Adler delivers a raw, intimate, and often hilarious look at the highs and lows of rock and roll life.
Part coming-of-age story, part music industry exposé, My Rock and Roll Fantasy is a must-read for classic rock fans, music historians, and anyone who ever dreamed of working with legends.
When your first job in the music business is working for The Beatles, what do you do for an encore?
