Author Biography
Marcelo Sampaio de Alencar received his PhD from the University of Waterloo, Canada, 1994. He worked for the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC), the Federal University of Paraiba (UFPB) and the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG). He is visiting chair professor at the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil. He is founder and president of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Communications (Iecom) and has published over 450 engineering and scientific papers and 20 books. He is a registered professional engineer and a columnist of the traditional Brazilian newspaper Jornal do Commercio, since April 2000.
