"The Unicorn Fish are Having a Party" is a story about a family of fish who throw a party for their very unfriendly neighbors.
Many of the fish in the neighborhood did not like the Unicorn Fish because of the horns growing out of their heads. The neighbors complained about one another and found something wrong with everyone they would see. One day, Kyle, the little Unicorn Fish, goes to his parents, crying. He tells them that they have always taught him to be kind to everyone, yet no one treats him with kindness. Wanting their son to be happy, Mamma and Papa Unicorn Fish come up with the idea to throw a party for all the neighbors. This way, they can all get to know each other and become friends. Excited, the neighborhood fish and other sea creatures help out to make the party a success. While at the party, they have such a great time they forget what they were so unhappy about. Old enemies become close friends, and soon the neighborhood becomes a great place to raise a family. As Mamma Unicorn Fish says, "Sometimes, someone has to make the first move to make a difference."
