Eriksen is an attorney, author, and an owner of the Waxahachie Journal (WaxahachieJournal.com)-an online e-zine that provides interesting stories, highlights local events, and connects the people of Ellis County and Waxahachie. Author Laurie J. Wilson is actively involved with the Ennis Public Library Historic Archive Project and is a member of the Ellis County Czech Heritage Society and the Ennis Heritage Society.
