The title "Wounded Sparrow" stands for all those people who have been hurt the deepest, but indeed there is hope. The wounded sparrow represents a human being meeting sorrow. A sparrow is not bound by chains.. Indeed it is free to fly. Even a sparrow in all its glorious freedom meets anguish. How can you fly free in the midst of tragedy? This book is a safe haven for anyone who feels unheard, broken, and desperate to relate to someone like themselves. This book is meant to inspire and liberate, and allow you to feel what has been lying within you dormant and hidden. Please enjoy!

Author Biography

My name is Christina M. Schindler, I am 26 years old living in Mount Vernon, Washington. I am a beauty school graduate from Northwest Hair Academy as of November 2012. I started writing at a very young age to cope with life and to connect with the Divinity. Poetry has always been my "safe place" to go to express all that has been inside of me in the darkness for many years, the pen and the paper never judges. In 2010 I created a poetry book called Wounded Sparrow Poetry. I condensed all of my life's poems into this little book. My whole heart, mind, and soul is within these very pages. *Here is a brief description about me and Wounded Sparrow Poetry: For years of my life I have had some great negative influences surrounding me. The quality of my life was pretty chaotic and at times, scary. Depression was my nearest companion. I have come to find that the people you influence yourself with, you begin to take on their mannerisms and then take on their lifestyle or way of thinking, etc... By changing my influences to positive life speaking people, the quality of my life has drastically changed to having hope and a future. No longer fearing what lies ahead. Poetry was and is my way of expressing deep sorrow, painting a picture with words expressing thoughts or feelings, painting a story for your imagination, and also writing life lessons that I have learned from and desire to pass on in a poem. I love the art of poetry and desire to grow more in love with it. Express yourself! "You have a voice, write a poem." "And this is when I have turned to the ink and the paper."
